SBLM Architects announces new Firm Associates

New York, New York, March 7, 2013 - SBLM Architects is pleased to announce the advancement of Nicholas Formickella and Thomas Lopes to the position of Associate.

Nicholas Formickella, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP is a Project Manager at SBLM with expertise in private and public projects. He is responsible for multiple LEED Gold Certified projects with Whole Foods Market including the recently opened 57th Street location in Manhattan. He was responsible for a major renovation to The August Aichhorn Center for Adolescent Residential Care, a 35,000 square foot non-profit youth intake facility funded by the NYS Office of Mental Health. He has also worked on numerous educational and civic projects for DASNY.

Thomas Lopes, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP is a Project Manager at SBLM with experience in retail developments and sustainability across multiple project types. He is responsible for numerous national retail programs including Kohl’s, Petco, and Aldo. He also works locally with developers through SBLM’s tenant coordination services. He is responsible for numerous tenant fit-out projects for Sky View Center in Flushing, NY and handles all lease administration for the 800,000 square foot shopping center. Mr. Lopes serves as the firm’s Director of Sustainability and works closely with the USGBC on LEED programs.
