SBLM Architects was selected by Nassau Community College to renovate and modernize the "Cluster C" building containing the Physical Sciences Department. Cluster C, originally constructed in the 1970's, is in need of extensive upgrades and modernizations to foster student's growth.
Along with complete interior renovation and MEP systems replacement, exterior modifications and improvements are to be made to the roofs and exterior curtain wall enclosures, including window and metal panel replacement and facade treatments.
Additionally, SBLM's extensive re-programming efforts resulted with providing new Computer Science technology centers, flexible seminar spaces, laboratories, support spaces and a state-of-the-art planetarium. Phasing and temporary services have been planned in order to keep the offices and the areas outside of the scope of work operational during construction.
This project is being designed according to LEED Silver standards and is currently on-going.
