SBLM was hired by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) to renovate approximately 55,000 sf of existing interior space in Haaren Hall. The scope of work included the legalization of existing conditions, extensive renovations of architectural and systems components, new offices, classrooms and a new rare book library at the basement level.

Selective demolition, construction of new drywall partitions, acoustic and gypsum ceilings, new doors and hardware, furniture, finishes, and the modification or replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were part of the project. In addition, the results included code compliant upgrades such as new exit stairs, partitions, door replacements, fire rating upgrades, sprinkler system, HVAC systems, and electrical modifications.

Planned phased construction allowed the building to remain occupied and in use through the duration of the renovations. Subsequent work for DASNY included obtaining a final Certificate of Occupancy for Haaren Hall.
