Monroe Woodbury High School
Central Valley, New York
FH/SBLM was retained to design a new 355,000 SF high school on a 30-acre site of rolling hills in this suburban neighborhood. The school design includes the main building, physical education fields, and parking lot for approximately 2,000 students. The building welcomes students and staff through a one-story entrance with wings that form the upper floors of the separate auditorium and gym.
At the rear is the four-story academic building that houses a state-of-the-art technology center, laboratories with tri-facial countertops, and classrooms for such diverse programs such as college preparation, home economics, health, business, and art. SBLM created flexibility within this design to allow the Central Valley School District to adapt to changes in curricula and enrollment.
