Montefiore Medical Center

Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) selected SBLM to analyze the conditions for the replacement of an MRI unit within the MMC Hutchinson Hospital campus building. After a bid process, SBLM was awarded the assignment to prepare design and construction documents.

The existing equipment was replaced by a state-of-the-art T3 MRI. The project included new millwork and enhancement to the ceiling, with introduction of an LED colored lighting system for enhanced patient experience.

The work also entailed the upgrade and modernization of surrounding support areas, including the control room, equipment room, and corridor. The main challenge was to keep the adjacent separate MRI unit fully operational during the entire renovation process.
